East Hampton pairs one of the prettiest village greens in the country with the estate lanes south of the highway, Lily Pond Lane, Further Lane, and the ocean-side streets, where the great shingle-style houses sit behind hedges on large grounds. Between the historic village center and the estate section, it is some of the most refined residential architecture on the East End.

The shingle-style estates give us deep covered porches, columns, and grand proportions to build against, and the taste level here is high, so the work is understated and correct: warm neutrals and natural material for fall, evergreen and warm white for Christmas, lighting that reads across a long approach at dusk. The historic homes near the green want a period-appropriate, restrained hand. We design to whichever front we are standing in front of.

We source everything, install it, and come back at the end of the season to take it down if you add removal, which for a seasonal ocean-side house is exactly the arrangement that makes sense.
