Seasonal Decorating in Northern New Jersey

Our New Jersey work is run by a helper who lives in Jersey City, which is what makes covering both ends of the market honest: the downtown row houses right across the river, and the Bergen County estates twenty-five minutes north.

Downtown Jersey City has become one of the best brownstone markets in the Tristate. The historic districts, Hamilton Park, Van Vorst Park, and Paulus Hook, are rows of restored row houses with real stoops and tall doors, and they decorate the way the Brooklyn brownstone neighborhoods do. On a stoop we do the full entry, garland on the railings and up the newel posts, a wreath scaled to the door, and a layered arrangement on the steps. Jersey City is a short near-metro run, so delivery is $50.

Franklin Lakes, up in Bergen County, is the other end: large colonial and custom estates on wooded lots with the formal two-story entries that a scaled display was made for. That is $125 delivery, priced for the drive, and the frontage lets us build big without crowding.
