Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is tiny and has deliberately stayed that way. Where the cities either side of it built upward, this one held its low-rise character, which is why it still feels like a beach town rather than a beachfront. El Prado Park, the pier, and a walkable few blocks of restaurants are the whole centre.

The work here is smaller in scale and higher in finish. Lots are compact, many homes are single-storey, and entries are modest, so an oversized display looks wrong immediately. A well-composed Package 4 doorway or a tight Package 3 is usually the honest recommendation, and we would rather tell you that than sell you something the house cannot carry.

What makes the town worth it is foot traffic. People walk everywhere here, at close range, every evening. A display is inspected properly rather than glanced at, which rewards the details: a wreath sized correctly, real material, nothing propped or improvised.
