Sandy Springs is the Fulton County city that begins where Buckhead ends and runs north to the Chattahoochee. It is a settled, wooded, affluent place, and the housing runs from the large traditional estates along Riverside Drive and around Mount Vernon to the ranch and split-level streets that filled in through the 1960s and 70s. Nearly all of it is single-family with a real front to work.

The mid-century homes want the opposite, a tidy, well-proportioned entry display that makes a low, horizontal house read as finished.
