Highland Beach is barely a mile wide and about three long, a ribbon of town squeezed between the ocean and the Intracoastal with Delray at one end and Boca at the other. There is no commercial strip to speak of, which is exactly how residents like it.

The housing is a mix of low and mid-rise buildings along A1A and a genuinely excellent set of single-family homes with water on both sides. Those single-family properties are the work: private, well-kept, generously proportioned, with the sort of entries that carry a full display comfortably.

Because the town is so narrow, almost every property is exposed to water on at least one side. Wind and salt are constants rather than occasional factors, so material choice and anchoring are part of the design conversation from the start rather than an afterthought. We will be straightforward about what holds here and what does not.
